What is it?
OstazOnline is an e-learning service for students from K4 to K12 studying the Egyptian curricula. We also provide courses for foreigners who want to learn the Arabic language. It is a revolutionary initiative towards a new era of education. Teachers explain lessons live to online students using exciting tools such as animated graphics and white boards. The student-teacher experience is live, and both are able to ask and answer questions. One can measure the success of the program easily through the use of tools and aids provided by OstazOnline such as, comprehensive notes, home work, quizzes and exams that are corrected by the online teachers.
In addition OstazOnline offers computer and language courses.
How does it work?
There is a fixed schedule for each class. Students log in each day to a tutoring session, where they see on their computer screens a live moving image of what the teacher's writing on the whiteboard, as well as hearing the teacher speak and explain the subject at hand.
Students can 'raise their hand' to ask a question by clicking a particular button on the interface, after which the teacher calls upon them and answers their question accordingly. All students need to complete a quiz at the end of every daily session to ensure that they've paid attention and absorbed the day's materials.
Real-time quality monitoring ensures that the teacher focuses on teaching while a moderator ensures that the session moves forward and that all students receive attention.
